Guía completa de números en inglés del 1 al 1000
Una vez que dominas los números del 1 al 100 en inglés, el salto hasta el 1000 es más fácil de lo que parece. Solo hay que aprender las centenas (hundred), una regla nueva (el and entre centenas y decenas) y tres excepciones que se repiten.
Esta guía está organizada en orden creciente: centenas completas, combinaciones con decenas, casos especiales como 101 o 1000, y ejercicios prácticos con soluciones. Centenas en inglés: 100, 200, 300... 1000
Las centenas se forman con el número de la cifra + la palabra hundred. La regla es siempre la misma:

Regla importante: hundred nunca lleva plural cuando va precedido de un número. Se dice five hundred (no *five hundreds*), six hundred (no *six hundreds*).
Excepción: cuando hablamos de centenas de forma genérica (sin número delante), sí se usa plural: *hundreds of people* (cientos de personas).
Combinaciones: centena + and + decena/unidad
Para escribir números entre 101 y 999 que no son centenas exactas, se añade and entre la centena y el resto:
Fórmula: centena + and + [decena-guion-unidad] o centena + and + unidad

Diferencia británico vs americano: - En inglés británico el and es obligatorio: *two hundred and five*. - En inglés americano se puede omitir en contextos informales: *two hundred five*. - Para estudio y exámenes, usa siempre la forma británica (con and) porque es la aceptada en todos los contextos formales.
Error común: no se escribe *one hundred and ten and five*. El and solo aparece una vez, entre la centena y el resto.
Casos especiales y excepciones
El caso de 100 (one hundred) y 1000 (one thousand)
Se puede decir a hundred o one hundred, a thousand o one thousand. La forma con a es más coloquial y la forma con one es más precisa. En textos formales se prefiere one hundred y one thousand.
Números como 110, 120, 130...
Cuando la decena es exacta (diez, veinte, treinta...), se escribe: one hundred and ten, one hundred and twenty, etc. El and no desaparece aunque la unidad sea cero.
Correcto: *one hundred and ten* Incorrecto: *one hundred ten* (aunque se usa en EE. UU.)
Cero en medio: 101, 204, 308
El cero no se pronuncia. No se dice *one hundred zero one* sino one hundred and one. El and sustituye al cero.
Hundred sin S
Regla de oro: cuando un número precede a hundred, este va en singular: - ✅ Five hundred (500) - ✅ Nine hundred (900) - ❌ *Five hundreds* → incorrecto - ❌ *Nine hundreds* → incorrecto
La pronunciación de hundred
La palabra hundred se pronuncia /ˈhʌndrəd/ (jándred). La segunda 'd' apenas se pronuncia en conversación rápida. Escúchala en contexto: *three hundred and sixty-five* suena como *zrí jándred and síxti-fáiv*.
El guion en combinaciones
Al igual que con los números del 21 al 99, cuando hay decena + unidad se usa guion: - 321 = three hundred and twenty-one - 555 = five hundred and fifty-five - 999 = nine hundred and ninety-nine

Errores frecuentes al escribir números grandes en inglés
1. Poner and dos veces
❌ *One hundred and twenty and five* ✅ One hundred and twenty-five
El and solo va entre la centena y el resto, no entre decena y unidad (ahí va guion).
2. Poner hundred en plural
❌ *Two hundreds* ✅ Two hundred
3. Olvidar el guion en decenas compuestas
❌ *Three hundred and twenty five* ✅ Three hundred and twenty-five
4. Escribir *fourty* en lugar de *forty*
Este error es tan común en números del 1 al 100 como en combinaciones mayores:
❌ *Four hundred and fourty* ✅ Four hundred and forty
5. Confundir *a* y *one*
Ambos son válidos, pero no se mezclan: - ✅ *a hundred* (informal) - ✅ *one hundred* (formal) - ❌ *a one hundred*
Consejos para estudiar los números en inglés hasta 1000
1. Domina primero el 1-100. Sin esa base, las centenas solo añaden confusión. Usa nuestra guía completa de números del 1 al 100 en inglés. 2. Aprende las centenas como bloques: one hundred, two hundred, three hundred... solo cambia el número delante. 3. Practica el and en voz alta. Di "one hundred and one", "two hundred and twenty-two" hasta que te salga natural. 4. Escribe fechas con año: 2026 se dice *twenty twenty-six* (año) o *two thousand and twenty-six* (formal). 5.
